WLF to Receive Report on Controversial Hog Bait

The next regular Commission Meeting will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017. There are multiple items on the agenda that will be of certain interest to all residents and Louisiana Bowhunters alike. One is the report being received on "Kaput", the controversial hog bait already approved by the EPA but not yet the state of Louisiana.

Specific items of interest are as follows:

  • Receive an Update on and Consider Comments to previously approved Notice of Intent to Amend the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the 2017-2018 Season, the Resident Game Hunting Season for the 2017-2019 Hunting Seasons, the General and Wildlife Management Area Rules and Regulations for the Turkey Season, the Turkey Hunting Areas, and Seasons, and Bag Limits for the 2018 Turkey Season, and the Migratory Bird Seasons, Regulations, and Bag Limits for the 2017-2018 Hunting Season – Steve Smith, WMA Program Manager

  • Receive Report on Deer Area 8 – Johnathan Bordelon, Deer Program Manager

  • Receive Report on Kaput Feral Hog Bait – Dr. Jim LaCour, Wildlife Veterinarian
